I bought this famous little book, with its elegant, if dated, language, to provide text for the narrator in a film that I am making of the story that Reclus handled so well: water flowing from an Alpine glacier, through torrente, streams, waterfalls, gorges, under bridges, and along streams and navigable rivers, eventually arriving at the sea. Just right for young school children.
